INTRODUCTION

I will start off by saying that nobody knows what the perfect “good life” is, including me. I know that I have been enjoying what most would consider a good life. I am not saying that my life is without problems, or that my way is the best way. I'm saying that I know that good life exists because there are people that have it, and those who don't.

Having a good life is subjective, meaning it depends on who you ask. The quality of your life can vary on a spectrum from very bad to very good. There may be some things worse than death, but for most people death would be near the bad end of the spectrum. Nobody knows how good a life can really be, but most feel that theirs could be better.

If you feel that your life could be better, you can make changes to improve it. Your ability to think is the most powerful tool that you have to make these changes.

As I have matured, I have tried to think ahead and plan more and more of my life in advance. Most of those plans worked out for the good, but some didn't. My life has been far from perfect. I tried to learn from other peoples mistakes. When that failed, I tried to learn from my own mistakes.

Knowing what works and what doesn't is wisdom. This book is just a collection of wisdom that I have learned over a lifetime.

Don't get hung up on being perfect. Even I don't always follow my own advise as evidenced by the amount of caffeine and sugar I consumed, and the irregular sleep I got, while writing this.

This is my attempt to explain what I think a good life is and how I think anyone can achieve it.
